If you are subject to a fine during your rental, you will receive the fine notice from the police or from InterRent (depending on the rental country) that you will have to pay.
Also, please keep in mind that Interrent will charge to your card a penalty for the administrative procedures, which amounts to 45 Euros (for Italy, Portugal, France and Spain).
